Hi, I’m Sarah Hubler and I’m fascinated by all things makeup and skincare. I also just like shiny, pretty things. Nothing is more fun to me than trying out new beauty products and spending hours wandering stores like Sephora and Ulta. Online browsing doesn’t suck either.
But I like to know how and why products work. I want to not only get you excited about your beauty routine, but to also share what I’ve learned about how products work and what goes into them. I’ve spent a lot of time trying different products and techniques so I’ve formed some pretty strong opinions on what works…for me.
And that’s the operative phrase: for me. I’m sure you’ve heard just about every blogger/vlogger say the same thing, but what works for me might not work for you. To help you get a better understanding of who I am, I’ve compiled some basics about my skin and skin concerns. As always, feel free to ask me questions on post and I’ll do my best to get back to you quickly.
Skin Tone: Very fair with neutral to pink undertones. Think Mac NC15.
Skin Type: Normal to combo. I deal with oiliness in my T-zone during the hot summer months and dry patches the winter. I actually this will help me give well-rounded reviews because there are certain foundations that only work when my skin swings one direction or another.
Sensitivities: I am allergic to the great outdoors…and cats. I have to be very careful to wash my hands before I touch my face or I will be dealing with a red rash for several hours. However, that sensitivity doesn’t translate into ingredients very often. I do very well with both chemical and physical exfoliants. But I do have to be careful with products that go around my eyes. I’m not sure if just having “allergy eyes” so many times in my life has developed an over sensitivity, but I have run across a few products that burn that area of my face.
Age Concerns: I am in my mid-thirties and doing everything in my power to keep my skin healthy and minimize wrinkles. (Suncreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!) At this point, I haven’t had any botox or other treatments done. But I also haven’t dismissed these options if feel my skin care isn’t keeping up in the future.
